Two parameter tuned multi-objective evolutionary algorithms for a bi-objective vendor managed inventory model with trapezoidal fuzzy demand

چکیده
This paper presents a bi-objective vendor managed inventory (BOVMI) model for a supply chain problem with a single vendor and multiple retailers, in which the demand is fuzzy and the vendor manages the retailers’ inventory in a central warehouse. The vendor confronts two constraints: number of orders and available budget. In this model, the fuzzy demand is formulated using trapezoidal fuzzy number (TrFN) where the centroid defuzzification method is employed to defuzzify fuzzy output functions. Minimizing both the total inventory cost and the warehouse space are the two objectives of the model. Since the proposed model is formulated into a bi-objective integer nonlinear programming (INLP) problem, the multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) of non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II (NSGA-II) is developed to find Pareto front solutions. Besides, since there is no benchmark available in the literature to validate the solutions obtained, another MOEA, namely the non-dominated ranking genetic algorithms (NRGA), is developed to solve the problem as well. To improve the performances of both algorithms, their parameters are calibrated using the Taguchi method. Finally, conclusions are made and future research works are recommended. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. A parameter-tuned genetic algorithm for vendor managed inventory model for a case single-vendor single-retailer with multi-product and multi-constraint
This paper develops a single-vendor single-retailer supply chain for multi-product. The proposed model is based on Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) approach and vendor uses the retailer's data for better decision making. Number of orders and available capital are the constraints of the model. In this system, shortages are backordered; therefore, the vendor’s warehouse capacity is another limitati...
متن کاملA Bi-objective Optimization for Vendor Managed Inventory Model
Vendor managed inventory is a continuous replenishment program that is designed to provide major cost saving benefits for both vendors and retailers. Previous research on this area mainly included single objective optimization models where the objective is to minimize the total supply chain costs or to maximize the total supply chain benefits. This paper presents a bi-objective mathematical mod...
متن کاملOptimizing a bi-objective vendor-managed inventory of multi-product EPQ model for a green supply chain with stochastic constraints
In this paper, a bi-objective multi-product single-vendor single-buyer supply chain problem is studied under green vendor-managed inventory (VMI) policy based on the economic production quantity (EPQ) model. To bring the model closer to real-world supply chain, four constraints of model including backordering cost, number of orders, production budget and warehouse space are considered stochasti...
متن کاملA Bi-objective Stochastic Optimization Model for Humanitarian Relief Chain by Using Evolutionary Algorithms
Due to the increasing amount of natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods and unnatural disasters such as war and terrorist attacks, Humanitarian Relief Chain (HRC) is taken into consideration of most countries. Besides, this paper aims to contribute humanitarian relief chains under uncertainty. In this paper, we address a humanitarian logistics network design problem including local dis...
متن کاملA FAST FUZZY-TUNED MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION FOR SIZING PROBLEMS
The most recent approaches of multi-objective optimization constitute application of meta-heuristic algorithms for which, parameter tuning is still a challenge. The present work hybridizes swarm intelligence with fuzzy operators to extend crisp values of the main control parameters into especial fuzzy sets that are constructed based on a number of prescribed facts. Such parameter-less particle ...
